Reforging Sigil

The Reforging Sigil is a jewel currency: it rerolls one random modifier on a jewel into a different modifier, at a freshly rolled tier anywhere in the jewel's rarity band.

It's a gamble on both counts — which line it hits is random, and what replaces it rolls fresh. It can turn a dead T7 line into a T1, or wreck the line you were building around. As the item itself puts it: it can roll worse. That is the deal.

Using one

  • Right-click the sigil to pick a jewel from a list, or pick the sigil up onto your cursor and click it onto a jewel in your own inventory to reforge that one directly. It has to be a click — a held-button drag does nothing.
  • It only works on a jewel item — a socketed jewel must be taken out first.
  • The chat readout shows exactly which line was replaced and what it became, so you always know what the sigil did.
  • It does nothing on an Aetheric jewel — uniques have no modifiers to reroll.

Prefer to keep the modifiers you have and gamble only on their numbers? That's the Truing Stone — the two are deliberate opposites.

Where it comes from

The main source is Erebus Crates — the chests called down when an Erebus Tear is sealed — and only the higher-tier tears' crates carry them. A lower-tier crate cannot pay one at any odds, so sealing the deepest tears you can reach is the reliable way to stock up.

The rotating Weekly Loot Box from the Obol Store also carries sigils in its current rotation, 1–2 at a time. That box rotates, so treat it as an opportunistic second source rather than a standing one.
