Shatterstorm
Shatterstorm is a Shatter path perk for pickaxe prestige. Every Shatter sends a march of smaller aftershocks walking away from you in the direction you are looking.
At a glance
| Path | Shatter |
| Roll | 25%–45% extra total volume |
| Waves | 2 to 6, scheduled a few ticks apart |
| Wave size | Half the parent blast's radius |
| Slots | Any perk slot (P1, P5, P10) |
How it works
When a primary Shatter goes off, Shatterstorm immediately queues a line of smaller blasts stepping outward along your look direction. Each wave uses half the radius of the blast that spawned it, and the waves are spaced far enough apart that they tile rather than overlap.
The number of waves is worked out from your roll: the server takes your rolled percentage of the parent blast's volume and divides it by the volume of one wave, then clamps the result between 2 and 6. So a bigger Shatter produces more waves, and a better roll produces more waves, but the perk is always adding roughly the percentage it advertises.
Waves land a few ticks apart rather than all at once. That is deliberate — spreading the cost over about a second is what makes the extra volume affordable on the server.
What sets it off
Primary Shatters only. Aim matters: the waves follow your look direction, so facing along a wall of ore turns them into a tunnel, while facing into a corner wastes them.
Excluded on purpose:
- Cluster Bomb blasts
- Powerball-driven Shatters
- Second Chance re-procs
- Tartarus (P11) discharges
- The aftershock waves themselves, so a storm cannot spawn another storm
Notes
- Waves also cannot roll Core Breach.
- If you log out or the pickaxe leaves your hotbar mid-storm, the remaining waves are dropped.
