Second Chance is a Proc Manipulation path perk for pickaxe prestige. When a procable enchant procs, it may fire again on your next block.

At a glance

Path Proc Manipulation
Roll 11%–19% chance
Slots Any perk slot (P1, P5, P10)
Memory One pending enchant at a time

How it works

When one of the five procable mining enchants procs naturally, that enchant is remembered on your pickaxe. On your next block, Second Chance rolls its chance. On a hit, the remembered enchant fires again, and the memory is cleared either way.

The procable pool is Shatter (or Cataclysmic Shatter), Feed, Transfuse, Super Breaker and Powerball.

Only one enchant is held at a time. If several proc on the same block, the last one to register is the one remembered.

What arms it

Natural procs only. Procs that were force-fired do not arm it:

  • Twinned procs
  • Overcharge procs
  • A Second Chance re-proc itself, so the perk cannot chain

Notes

  • A Second Chance Shatter still rolls Cluster Bomb and Core Breach, but not Shatterstorm.
  • A Second Chance Powerball still gets Swarm, Meteor and Fission.
  • Everything a Second Chance re-proc earns is credited to the perk rather than to the enchant it replayed.
  • The pending memory is per player and per pickaxe.
