The Tartarus Rift

The Tartarus Rift is a personal, on-demand mining activity. Drop in whenever you have daily time left, mine as much valuable ore as you can across continuous rounds, and bank points that convert into Rift Marks — a currency you spend on a permanent skill tree and exclusive Rift Caches.

It's not a scheduled event and there's no queue: talk to the Riftkeeper at spawn, or run /rift, and you're in.

The Rift unlocks once the community completes Fund II (see /fund).

The loop, in short

  1. Enter through the Riftkeeper or /rift — your inventory is stored safely and you're handed a Rift kit.
  2. Mine ore for points across back-to-back rounds. Your daily time only ticks while you're actually mining.
  3. Leave any time (/rift leave). Your points become Rift Marks, and your real inventory comes back.
  4. Spend Rift Marks on the skill tree (permanent upgrades) and Rift Caches (loot), and climb Rift Prestige.

The pages in this section break each part down.

Version history

v2.0.0

  • The Tartarus Rift is now a personal daily activity — enter through the new Riftkeeper at spawn (or /rift) whenever you want, with no queue or wait. (It was previously a scheduled, server-wide Rift event.)

v3.0.0

  • Rift Prestige and every skill tree node dropped their player-level requirements: Rift Marks and your Rift Prestige are the only gates left.
  • The Prison Break Points Earned tracker is now called Rift Points Earned; your recorded total carries over.
  • Rift event pickaxes can no longer be dropped into either wormhole.
  • The Rift no longer appears in /events, which now lists timed server events only. Enter it from the Riftkeeper or /rift exactly as before.
