Broodborn Pickaxe Trim

The Broodborn Pickaxe Trim is the pickaxe half of the Broodborn line — the scarcer of the two, and the one most miners are still chasing. It was called Surgeborn before Map III.

Its exact numbers are left for those who earn it to discover.

It pairs with the Broodborn armour set. Wear the full set alongside the trimmed pickaxe and its full-set ability, Deep Bite, unlocks — a chance for each swing to also break the ore block directly behind your target, biting deeper into the face. Without the set you still get the trim's own mining speed and XP bonuses; the ability needs all four armour pieces.

Where to get it

Echidna, the same boss that drops the armour set — but several times rarer than it, so expect to finish the armour long before the pickaxe trim turns up. See Boss Summoning for the altar and the key.
