Welcome to Ancients
Ancients is a Minecraft prison server set in the Greek underworld. You start as a prisoner of Tartarus with nothing but a wooden pickaxe, and you climb from there — mine ore, enchant your gear, prestige, and fight your way up through the underworld.
How to join
Open Minecraft Java Edition (the server runs version 1.21.11) and add a server with the address play.ancients.gg. You'll land in the hub first — right-click the compass in your hotbar to open the server selector and step into Tartarus. Return to the hub any time with /hub.
Two connected areas
Once you're in, two areas open up, both reachable from the /warp menu:

| Tartarus | The prison core — mines, spawn, shops, and your day-to-day grind. |
| Forgotten Polis | An open overworld zone where you hunt shades and wraiths. |
The Polis unlocks once the community reaches Fund Tier I — contribute through the Community Fund with /fund. Entering the zone prompts you to pick an alignment path (Pilgrim, Wanderer, or Defiler) for that visit, trading safety against reward.

- The Ancient Roads have been removed. The Forgotten Polis is now the only alignment zone, so Tartarus and the Polis are the two areas you move between.
