Clue Scrolls

Clue scrolls are rare finds while mining: a to-do list of challenges around the server that pays out a Clue Casket when you finish everything on it. The higher your level, the higher the tier of scroll you find — and the better the casket at the end.

Finding a scroll

Scrolls drop rarely while you mine. The tier of scroll you find tracks your mining level:

Higher-tier scrolls are rarer finds than lower-tier ones. A fresh scroll arrives as a stackable "mystery" item — its tasks aren't revealed yet.

Activating and completing

Right-click the scroll to activate it. It rolls 3 to 7 tasks — lower tiers keep the list short, top tiers roll the longest lists — and becomes a unique item that tracks your progress in its description.

Tasks span the whole game. A sampling of what you might be asked to do:

• Mining — mine ores, earn Ancient Energy from mining, break meteor or meteorite blocks
• Opening — open shards or contraband of a given tier, open KOTH loot bags
• Combat — slay caravans, kill players, Shades, Wraiths, Erebus Guards, or altar bosses
• Events — hold the LMS cap for a number of minutes
• Economy — buy or list on the Auction House, spend in the shop, pay or trade with other players
• Enchanting & gear — use enchant dust, erasers, or rerolls in the Wormhole; apply trims, scrolls, or Orbs of Moros
• Pickaxe & more — prestige your pickaxe, use reroll tokens, activate boosters, spend AFK points

Progress only counts while the activated scroll is in your inventory. Each completed task gets its own little celebration, and when the final task ticks over, the scroll transforms into a Clue Casket of the same tier right in your inventory.

Rerolling bad tasks

Got a task you hate? A Clue Scroll Reroll replaces every incomplete task on an active scroll with fresh ones (drag it onto the scroll) — completed tasks keep their credit. Collecting 9 Clue Reroll Fragments automatically forges them into a full Reroll.

Opening the casket

Right-click the casket to open it. You'll get a couple of rewards drawn from its tier's pool, plus an XP bottle that scales sharply with tier. The pools grow richer as tiers climb:

• All tiers — contraband matching the casket's tier, enchant dust
• Uncommon and up — enchant erasers
• Elite and up — mystery enchant orbs
• Ultimate — a shot at Fortune's Dice
• Legendary and up — booster boxes, perk swaps, and stat swaps (the Legendary casket also rolls stat rerolls)
• Godly and up — mystery boss summoning keys
• Exceptional — adds armor expander boxes on top of the rest

Completing clue scrolls also counts toward Season Pass challenges.
