Mining Events (Competition, Rush & Hot Zone)

Three recurring mini-events fire on staggered timers inside the prison-world mines, each rewarding active mining — not AFK or bot mining. All three are tier-scoped: you compete and earn within your own mine tier (Coal through Netherite), and announcements only reach players in that tier. They run once cluster-wide, so you never see them double up.

The cadence is staggered so they don't all land at the same moment — a Rush near the start of the cycle, a Hot Zone offset between Rushes, and a Competition offset after the Rush. Don't memorise fixed minute values; open the /events menu and treat its countdowns as the source of truth.

Mining Competition (/comp)

A periodic race to top your tier's leaderboard by mining ore that matches your current mine. Each competition rolls two random reward types from XP, Shards, Ancient Energy, and Ore.

The top 3 miners in each tier earn boosters of those reward types for 10 minutes:

Place Booster strength
1st 1.5x
2nd 1.3x
3rd 1.2x

Blocks broken by the Shatter enchant do not count toward your total — only ore you break directly. Run /comp to watch the live leaderboard.

Mining Rush (/rush)

A single refined-ore block — a Coal Block, Netherite Block, or whatever matches your tier — spawns in each mine, marked with a floating label above it and pinged to modded clients as a beam. Players race to swing it.

  • Every swing earns 1 raffle ticket.
  • After 100 total swings, the rush completes.
  • A weighted raffle then picks one winner from the tickets — swing more, win more often.

The winner gets a large XP & Energy multiplier reward that scales by mine tier: higher tiers pay far bigger multipliers than the lower ones. Use /rush to check the current rush.

Hot Zone (/hotzone)

A cylindrical zone spawns somewhere in each mine tier, its boundary marked with flame particles. While it's active, mining anywhere inside the zone grants 1.5x ore, XP, and energy to everyone in it — no leaderboard, no competition, just stand in the flames and dig. A Hot Zone lasts about 5 minutes. Run /hotzone to see whether one is up and where.

Because all three reward active swings, they pair naturally with a well-enchanted pickaxe and good mining habits — the faster you break, the higher you climb and the more tickets you bank.
