Core Breach
Core Breach is a Shatter path perk for pickaxe prestige. On a fixed counter, one Shatter erupts at a much bigger radius than usual.
At a glance
| Path | Shatter |
| Roll | +3 to +5 radius |
| Fires | Every 20 primary Shatters |
| Slots | Any perk slot (P1, P5, P10) |
How it works
Every primary Shatter ticks a counter on that pickaxe. On the 20th, the blast gets your rolled value added straight onto its radius before it goes off.
It is a counter, not a dice roll, so it lands as a rhythm you can feel rather than another hidden chance.
The payoff is large because volume grows cubically:
| Base radius | Normal blast | With +5 radius |
|---|---|---|
| 3 | 343 blocks | 4,913 blocks |
| 4 | 729 blocks | 6,859 blocks |
| 5 | 1,331 blocks | 9,261 blocks |
What counts toward the counter
Only primary Shatters — the ones that fire off your own block break, plus the ones Twinned, Overcharge and Second Chance force. Cluster Bomb follow-up blasts and Tartarus discharges are excluded, so a single proc can never stack two surges.
Notes
- The counter lives per player and per pickaxe, so swapping pickaxes does not lose your progress toward the next breach.
- It stacks with the Cataclysmic Shatter radius roll and the of the Fracture jewel, which are applied separately.
