Gangs

Gangs are the social core of Ancients. Your squad shares a vault and bank, unlocks gang-wide upgrades, fights over outposts, raids rival cells, earns Gang Points, and climbs the leaderboard for weekly Obol payouts.

Creating a gang

Run /g create <name> — it's free. Names can be up to 12 characters and may only use standard letters, numbers, and symbols. You become the gang's Leader. /gang and /gangs work as aliases for /g everywhere.

One squad of four

New this map: a gang is a single squad of up to 4 members — including the leader. The old split between a 4-player roster and a smaller "active line-up" is gone, and so is the AFK auto-bench. Every seat counts, so pick your squad carefully.

Membership also sticks through logout now — you stay in your gang when you log off and step right back in when you return.

Roles run on a simple ladder: Leader → Co-Leader → Mod → Member. Higher roles can invite, promote, and manage the gang. See Gang Membership & Roles for the full command list.

Version history

v2.0.0

  • A gang is now a single squad of up to 4 members instead of a 4-player roster plus a 3-player active line-up; the old sub/bench/activate flow and AFK auto-bench were removed.
  • Gang membership now persists through logout — you no longer drop out of your gang when you log off.
