Obols
Obols are the premium currency of Ancients. They're separate from money ($) and Ancient Energy, and they're spent in the in-game store (/store) on permanent ranks, the Season Pass, crates, boosters, and more. Your Obol balance is one shared wallet across the whole network — it follows you between the prison, Forgotten Polis, and Ancient Roads, and unlike money and Energy it doesn't reset when a new season starts.
Checking your balance
Run /obols to see how many Obols you have. Your balance is also shown at the top of every store menu.
Earning Obols
Discord server tag
Link your Discord account with /link, then equip the Ancients server tag in Discord. While the tag is active you passively earn 2 Obols per hour, even while you're offline. Pending rewards stack up to a maximum of 48 Obols, so check in at least once a day and run /claimtag to collect.
Boosting the Discord
Boost the Ancients Discord and, for as long as your boost is active, you get:
- 500 Obols every month for each active boost — claim with
/claimboost - 5% more XP
- 5% more Ancient Energy
- The ✦ Tartarus Patron chat title
If you have two boosts on the server, you earn the Obol reward for both.
Gang Top payouts
At the end of each of the first 4 weeks of a map, the top 3 gangs on the Gang Top leaderboard (/gtop) earn an Obol stipend, paid to the gang leader:

Payouts are announced in chat, and the /gtop menu shows a countdown to the next one. If the leader is offline, the Obols still land on their balance and they're notified the next time they join.

Several tiers on both the free and paid tracks of the Season Pass award Obols when claimed. Open /pass to see exactly which tiers pay out and how much.
Topping up
You can also buy Obols directly on the web store at buy.ancients.gg — run /buy in game for a clickable link.
Paying other players
Obols can be sent to other players with /obols pay <player> <amount>. The transfer is instant — even to offline players — and if the recipient is online they get an on-screen notification.
