Looking for the world event that drops rocks from the sky? That is Meteors. This page is the pickaxe prestige perk.
Meteor is a Powerball path perk for pickaxe prestige. Sometimes your whole Powerball volley arrives as one giant comet instead of a spray of balls.
At a glance
| Path | Powerball |
| Roll | 10%–18% chance |
| Slots | Any perk slot (P1, P5, P10) |
| Effect | The volley collapses to one oversized, piercing ball |
How it works
On a hit, the ball count for that volley is set to 1. That single ball is rendered at over twice normal size, and it pierces instead of ricocheting — it ploughs straight ahead and bores a 3x3 shaft through whatever it hits. You get a chat line when it happens.
The comet is not charged a single ball's budget. It inherits the whole volley's budget multiplied by 3, capped at 400 blocks. That multiplier exists because an early version charged the comet one ball's worth and the perk was a straight downgrade: it looked enormous, then spent itself in three bounces for less total volume than the spray it replaced.
| Volley it swallowed | Comet budget |
|---|---|
| 2 balls | 6 balls' worth |
| 4 balls | 12 balls' worth |
| Large volleys | capped at 400 blocks |
Interactions
- Fires after Swarm, so a Swarm-inflated volley feeds a correspondingly bigger comet.
- Fission still triggers when the comet's run ends.
- Skipped during a Prismatic Efficiency rainbow echo.
Notes
- A comet is a straight line, so it rewards facing into a solid wall of ore. Fired into open air it wastes most of its budget.
