AncientsWiki

The dungeon skill tree is a sprawling, Path-of-Exile-style passive web — a single sheet of interconnected nodes you grow outward to shape your build for Dungeons of Tartarus. Everything on it is dungeon-only; none of these bonuses follow you out into the rest of the server.

At the centre sits a gate node, Awakening. From there, weapon-themed clusters fan out in their own directions — Sword, Axe, Wand and Bow each anchor a wedge — alongside universal clusters for raw offence, defence and survival, and a Fortune branch.

Pathing outward

Nodes unlock by adjacency. A node is only allocatable when a directly-connected neighbour is already unlocked, so you carve a continuous path out from the gate rather than cherry-picking distant nodes. The deeper you push into a wedge, the stronger the values get — and the far ends of each branch are where the keystones live.

You pay for nodes with dungeon skill points, banked as you gain dungeon levels. Spend them to allocate; node values scale with how far you are from the gate.

Stat nodes — weapon-specific vs universal

Most stat nodes are tied to a weapon class. A node like increased bow damage or wand crit chance only does anything while that weapon is held — build down the Bow wedge and you're sharpening a bow, not a sword.

A smaller set of nodes is universal and applies to any build regardless of what you're holding:

  • Crit chance and crit damage
  • Max HP and life regen
  • Dungeon XP gain
  • Duplicate loot chance

Keystones

Keystones are binary, build-around effects — strong upside paired with a real downside, the kind of pick that defines a build rather than nudging a number. Universal keystones include:

Keystone Theme
Glass Cannon More damage, far more fragile
Executioner Reward for finishing low-HP targets
Earthsplitter Heavy-hitting ground power
Juggernaut Defensive immovability
Bloodthirst Sustain through aggression
Attunement Your runes are 20% more effective in dungeons

Each weapon wedge also caps off with its own keystone — Volley and Deadeye's Focus for bows, Puncture for piercing builds, Chain Lightning for wands, and more — so committing fully to one weapon line earns a signature payoff.

Allocating at the Oracle

There are two ways to open the tree:

  • Walk the room. The skill tree is laid out as physical tiles in a dedicated room; right-click a node with the Oracle's Chisel to allocate it.
  • Open it remotely. Right-click the Oracle of Tartarus to open the tree directly. Modded players get a fullscreen Tartarus Vision view; everyone else is teleported into the skill tree room.

Respeccing

Changed your mind? Respec with the Waters of Lethe, an infinite-use respec item — no consumable to farm. Note that piecemeal refunds aren't a discount: refunding a single node or a branch costs the same per point as a full respec, so there's no cheaper path than wiping and re-pathing.

Not the Rift tree

This is the dungeon skill tree, earned through dungeon play. It's a completely separate system from the Rift Skill Tree — different points, different nodes, different scope.

Version history
