Broodborn Trim (armour)

The Broodborn Trim is the Momentum mining armour trim — scale plate shed by Echidna's brood, built around riding your Momentum as hard as it will go. It was called Surgeborn before Map III; the set is the same, the name and the drop source are not.

Worn as a full set it raises your Momentum cap by 50%, and grants 30% increased mining speed and 15% increased shard find. Its full-set ability, Surge, holds you permanently at maximum Momentum — you never spool down between blocks, and never lose the chain to a pause.

Those two halves are the point of the set: Surge parks you at the cap, and the set then raises that cap by half again. It pairs naturally with the rest of a mining loadout and with your mining enchants on armour.

Since Map III, Broodborn is the only trim that raises the Momentum cap — Riftborn lost its 50% and now stays a mining speed and Powerball set. The set's mining speed also sums into the single additive mining speed pool alongside Efficiency, Momentum and your pickaxe prestige, rather than multiplying on top of them.

Where to get it

Echidna — both Broodborn trims now roll from her loot table, the armour piece being the more common of the two. See Boss Summoning for the altar and the key; summoning her is gated by the Server Fund tier alone now, with no player level or prestige requirement.

The matching Broodborn Pickaxe Trim comes off the same boss and unlocks its own ability once you have the full armour set. Check /trims to see which trims you've unlocked.
