Trims are rare drag-on upgrades for armour — one trim per piece, each with its own look and its own set of bonuses. Drop a trim onto a piece of gear and it gains whatever that trim grants: PvP damage, damage reduction, mining and loot perks — all spelled out on the trim item before you apply it.

Changed your mind? A Trim Remover (itself a rare drop) takes a trim off a piece and hands it back to you. You can also apply a new trim straight over an old one after a quick chat confirm, but the trim you replace is gone for good.

Where trims drop

Trims you can find in the world:

Trim Source
Spectral Shades & wraiths, every tier
Skipstone The tougher shades of Polis
Nyx's Shroud Erebus Crates, sealed out of a Wound of Erebus
Olympian KOTH jackpot reward
Emberfall Erebus Guards in the Pit, RNG meter tracked
Raider Boss loot
Foresight The Oracle
Riftborn Rift-cache chase
Thanatos Boss-only
Hephaestus Boss-only
Broodborn Echidna
Lamia's Molt Lamia
Skyfall Skywars Champion Box jackpot
Atlas Meteorite showers: shower-spawned meteorite blocks only

The Skyfall trim is among the rarest finds on the server — a Skywars-exclusive jackpot pull from Champion Boxes, left for the worthy to uncover. See Skywars for how to earn the chance.

Atlas is the odd one out in how it drops. No loot table rolls it. Instead, it falls straight out of the ground while you mine a meteorite shower, the one event its bonuses are built for, at roughly 1 in 5,000 shower-spawned meteorite blocks. The matching Atlas Pickaxe Trim comes off the same blocks four times more rarely.

Notable trim bonuses

A few trims carry standout effects worth knowing before you chase them:

  • Spectral (Soul Siphon. Now a dedicated PvE set) its damage reduction applies to PvE only. Its full-set ability Soul Siphon (which replaces the old Phantom Veil) feeds on the hunt itself: each shade or wraith kill heals you and stacks a short-lived PvE damage buff, refreshed with every kill.
  • Nyx's Shroud. The PvP set, replacing the retired Wayfarer — sealed out of a Wound of Erebus, with a full-set ability of its own, Rift Wound. See Nyx's Shroud.
  • Olympian. The KOTH jackpot trim — now 72% of the jackpot slot. Its full-set ability Zeus's Wrath calls down lightning on nearby shades, wraiths and pit guards.
  • Raider. Built for cell raiding — a full Raider set takes 25% less damage from cell guards.
  • Broodborn. The momentum mining set, known as Surgeborn before Map III, now dropped by Echidna alongside its pickaxe counterpart. See Broodborn.

The Skipstone set

Skipstone is the introductory 4-piece armour trim set, and it's now squarely a wand set. Wear all four pieces and the full-set bonus grants:

  • 12% more wand damage (PvE)
  • 8% reduced PvE damage taken

The set does nothing in PvP, and the old +6 Max HP is gone. Completing all four pieces unlocks two extras: the Skipstone wand trim's beam ricochet, so your wand beam bounces between targets, and the set's own full-set ability Skipping Stone, which lets a wand beam that kills skip onward to the next enemy. Partial sets give partial value. The headline numbers are for the full four.

Trims change how a piece performs, not how it looks beyond the trim's own pattern — for purely visual flair, see Cosmetics. And remember that armour bonuses stack with whatever you carry in your offhand, so plan the two together.

Trim set abilities no longer post a chat line every time they fire — a proc announces itself with a bigger particle burst and a louder sound instead.

The /trims catalog

Run /trims to browse every trim in the game, what it does, and where it comes from. The catalog is organised by item type (separate tabs for Armour, Pickaxe, Weapon, Wand and Bow), so you can jump straight to the line you care about. Pickaxe, weapon, wand and bow trims live on their own pages: see Weapon, Wand & Bow Trims.

Stat lines in /trims now follow the server-wide wording rule: increased bonuses sum with your other increased sources, more bonuses multiply on top, matching the wording on the trim items themselves.

When a player is the first to apply a given trim, the server-wide announcement points everyone to /trims so they can see what just got claimed.
