Calcite Enchants
Calcite enchants are the white-tier upgrades earned deep in the Calcite Caverns. Each one consumes and supersedes a maxed base enchant: the item must already carry the listed requirement at max level before the Calcite orb will apply.
The Calcite enchants
Each Calcite enchant requires a specific base enchant at max level to apply:

Because each Calcite enchant absorbs a maxed base enchant, you build toward it on the pickaxe enchants you already run — it's a capstone, not a parallel slot.
Applying a Calcite orb
A Calcite orb is charged with Ancient Energy first, then clicked onto an item that already carries the required maxed base enchant. If the requirement isn't met, the orb won't apply.
Instead of applying it, you can throw a charged Calcite Orb into the Calcite Wormhole to try to upgrade the orb itself — but a failed attempt shatters the orb. Note that Enchant Catalysts can't save Calcite rolls; see the Enchant Orbs page for how catalysts work elsewhere.
Rolling directly at the Wormhole
You can also roll a Calcite enchant straight onto a pickaxe at the Calcite Wormhole — currently Cavern Luck, Cataclysmic Shatter, and Prismatic Efficiency. As of Season 2 those direct rolls are about half as likely as before. Turning Calcite Charges into enchant orbs is unchanged, so the orb route is the steadier path to a guaranteed result.
What the enchants do
Prismatic Efficiency adds Rainbow Echo, now on a 5-second cooldown — far more frequent than it used to be.
A black-scrolled dual-class Calcite enchant like Cavern Luck is now bound to its source item type: a Lucky orb extracted from a pickaxe stays pickaxe-only, so you can't shuffle it onto unrelated gear. See Removing & Moving Enchants for how black-scrolling and item binding work.
