The Erebus Cap (The Pit)
The Erebus Cap is a king-of-the-hill standoff inside The Pit of Erebus: claim the cap, hold it against all comers, and survive the guards the Pit throws at you.
Where to find it
The Pit of Erebus is reached through the /warp menu. It requires level 60, and it unlocks for the season once the community completes Fund III — see the Community Fund. Fair warning: the Pit is a PvP zone and you do not keep your inventory if you die there.
The cap itself is a circle of red terracotta on the Pit floor.
How it works
- One player holds the cap at a time. The first player to stand in the free circle becomes the holder — and the whole server is told about it, so expect company.
- Anyone else who steps in is told the cap is taken. To claim it, you'll have to make the current holder leave... one way or another.
- You're combat-tagged the entire time you hold the cap — logging out or running is treated like combat.
- Step out of the circle (or die) and your timer resets. The cap is then free for the next player.
Fighting the guards
Holding the cap is no longer an AFK perch — the per-minute Energy, Money, and XP faucet has been removed, so there's no passive income for standing still. Instead, the Pit fights back.
Every ~5 minutes you hold the cap, an Erebus Guard spawns on you. Kill it, or it ends your run for you. The server is told when a guard appears, so long streaks paint a target on your back.
The daily loot claim
The cap now pays out as a once-a-day loot claim for holding it roughly 5 minutes total across the day (down from 15). It doesn't matter how many separate times you grab the cap — the minutes add up, and the reward fires once per day.
When you hit the threshold you get 2 rolls from a modest pool:
Reward
---
Motes of the Ancients (1–3)
Enchant Dust (2–4)
Fortune's Dice
a Global Booster Box
a Mystery Boss Key
a White Scroll

Holding the cap also still advances "Stay in LMS" tasks on Clue Scrolls.
