Pickaxe Enchants
Pickaxe enchants are where most of your mining power comes from. They cover raw mining speed, ore and energy yield, shard finding, and a handful of flashy AoE procs, and in Season 2 several of them were rebalanced. Roll them at the Wormhole, or apply the Godly ones from Enchant Orbs.
Why mining speed matters again
On a fresh, unenchanted pickaxe, base mining is slower across the board in Season 2. Insta-mining is an earned end state, not the default, so the mining-speed enchants (Efficiency, Momentum, and the Calcite upgrade Prismatic Efficiency) pull real weight from your first swing. Investing in speed early genuinely changes how fast you progress. See Mining for the fundamentals.
The enchants
Every pickaxe enchant, with the exact numbers the server runs. Max is the normal Wormhole cap; the enchants with an Exceptional level are listed under the table.
| Enchant | Rarity | Max | Slot | Exactly what it does |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Efficiency | Common | 5 | Pickaxe | 40% more mining speed per level (up to 200% more at L5). |
| Energy Collector | Uncommon | 5 | Pickaxe | 10% increased ancient energy per ore, per level (up to 50% increased at L5). |
| Feed | Common | 1 | Pickaxe | 2.5% chance per ore mined to fully restore hunger and saturation. |
| Fracture | Ultimate | 5 | Pickaxe | While mining an ore, adjacent same-layer ores gain +3.5% mining progress per level, up to +17.5% at L5 (scaled by their mine time). |
| Ore Magnet | Common | 5 | Pickaxe | 20% more ore drops per level. Base roll: 2-4 ores per ore block. (up to 100% more at L5, then rounded). |
| Powerball | Legendary | 3 | Pickaxe | Chance on mining to launch fire charge(s) that bounce off blocks and break the ores they hit. L1: 1%, 1 ball. L2: 1.5%, 2 balls. L3: 2%, 3 balls (1 ball per level). Each ball ends after 20 blocks or 15s. |
| Shatter | Legendary | 6 | Pickaxe | Chance on mining to harvest a cube of nearby ores. L1-2: 3x3x3, L3-5: 5x5x5, L6: 7x7x7. Proc: 0% + 0.2%/level after L1 (L6 = 1%). Full ore drops; blocks stay; 7.5% energy, little XP. |
| Super Breaker | Elite | 5 | Pickaxe | 0.4% + 0.2%/level after L1 to proc (L5 = 1.2%). On proc: next 5-15 mineable blocks break instantly. Blocks you would ALREADY mine instantly count as 2x: XP, energy, ores, and Feed/Shatter proc rolls. |
| Transfuse | Uncommon | 3 | Pickaxe | 10%/level chance per ore to upgrade it one tier (L3 = 30%). Coal>iron>lapis>redstone> gold>diamond>emerald ore>ancient debris. At the top tier instead drops 2x ore. |
| Shard Discovery | Elite | 5 | Pickaxe | 50% more chance to find shards while mining ores, per level (up to 250% more at L5). |
| Treasure Hunter | Legendary | 5 | Pickaxe | Each shard you find has a chance to convert into a contraband of the same tier instead. 0.1% per shard, per level (L5 = 0.5%). |
| Momentum | Legendary | 5 | Pickaxe | Mining builds a momentum timer (this pickaxe). Ramps to +10%/level mining speed (L5 = +50%) over 45 min. +1s/block, -1s/sec idle. |
| Warp Miner | Godly | 5 | Pickaxe | 10% more XP per level from mining (up to 50% more at L5). |
| Heart of Gaia | Ancient | 1 | Pickaxe | The one and only Ancient enchant — unearthed once in two million blocks, and only by your own hand. Resonance: your bond with the earth deepens as you mine, granting up to 50% increased Ancient Energy, ore, and mining XP — and it grows permanently with every block you break. Ascension: that same mining charges the Heart until it erupts, tearing up the ground around you for a burst of 100% increased yields while it lasts. |
| Lucky | Legendary | 3 | Any armour + Pickaxe, Sword, Axe, Wand, Bow | 10% increased proc rate per level for enchants on THIS item (Feed, Shatter, Super Breaker, Shard Discovery, Transfuse, weapon procs, etc.). Caps at level 4 (up to 40% increased). Each piece's Lucky boosts only its own procs. Pickaxes, gear, weapons and bows; Lvl 4 via orb only. |
| Energy Battery | Godly | 5 | Pickaxe | Lets you mine past 100% of the pickaxe's displayed capacity. L1: up to 200%, L2: 400%, L3: 800%, L4: 1600%, L5: 3200%. Display and level-up cost stay the same. Apply via godly orbs. |
| Meteorite Hunter | Godly | 5 | Pickaxe | 10% more energy from meteorites per level (up to 50% more at L5) when under block cap. Level increases cap: 2000 blocks per level. Resets daily at 1 PM PST. Apply via godly orbs. |
| Earthquake | Godly | 5 | Pickaxe | 0.3% + 0.1%/level chance on block break (up to 0.8% at L5) to shatter a 3x3 column straight down: 4 blocks deep at L1, 8 at L5. Bypasses shatter/powerball chains. |
Exceptional levels: Efficiency VI, Momentum VI, Fracture VI, Warp Miner VI, Powerball IV and Lucky IV go beyond the normal cap. They come from Exceptional orbs only, never from a Wormhole roll, and each one applies at a flat 50%. See Enchant Orbs for how those work.
Proc chance: one pool, one rule
Every mining enchant that rolls a chance per block now reads from the same increased-proc-chance pool. Super Breaker, Earthquake, Transfuse and Feed used to each assemble their own subset and quietly ignore whole categories of gear; they now scale like everything else.
What feeds the pool:
- Lucky on the pickaxe itself — 10% increased proc rate per level, up to 40% at Lucky IV. Lucky only ever boosts the item it is socketed in.
- Cavern Luck, the Calcite upgrade of Lucky.
- Fate cards, armour and pickaxe trims, jewels, and the pickaxe prestige proc perks.
Fault Line is the exception. Its chance is fixed — Lucky, trims, prestige perks and increased proc chance never move it.
Earthquake
Earthquake is a Godly pickaxe enchant that shatters a 3×3 column straight down from the block you broke. It was reworked from top to bottom:
- It procs 10x less often (0.8% per block at level 5, down from 8%), but it is now a real reward when it fires.
- Its blocks pay Ancient Energy and drop shards, and count toward your season pass challenges and your pickaxe's lifetime ore total.
- It pays XP and energy at 50% per block, the same rate Powerball does.
- Hot Zones boost its ore, XP and energy, and it scales with Lucky, Cavern Luck and Fate cards.
/miningsimcounts Earthquake procs in its session breakdown.
Meteorite Hunter and the daily cap
Meteorite Hunter pays more energy from meteorite blocks while you are under a daily cap of 2,000 blocks per level. Everything that destroys meteorite now counts toward that cap honestly:
- Shatterpoint (the Atlas pickaxe trim) counts every block it shatters.
- Wildfire (the Emberfall pickaxe trim) counts every meteorite it ignites.
- Blocks mined on a rented pickaxe count, the running total updates as you mine rather than showing the count from the start of the lease, and the day's count carries back to the owner's pickaxe when the lease ends.
Season 2 rebalances
A few pickaxe enchants changed for the Season 2 rebuild:
- Warp Miner is now purely +10% increased mining XP per level (up to +50% at L5). It no longer converts to energy once you hit the level cap — it stays a clean XP enchant the whole way.
- Meteorite Hunter's energy bonus is now level-scaled: +10% more energy per level while under the daily block cap, up to +50% at L5, down from a flat +100%.
- Super Breaker is nerfed at higher levels. L1 is unchanged, but proc chance and active duration scale half as steeply per level: at L5 it procs about 40% less often and grants 10 instant breaks instead of 15. The double-credit on blocks you could already insta-mine is untouched.
- Powerball now fires a random number of balls per proc (a L4 Powerball launches 1–4 per proc rather than always 4), and its fireballs are visible again, with no cap on how many show at once.
- Prismatic Efficiency's Rainbow Echo internal cooldown dropped from 30s to 5s, so it re-fires your mining procs far more often. (Prismatic Efficiency itself is a Calcite enchant. It upgrades a maxed Efficiency.)
Beyond the base enchants
- The white-tier Calcite enchants (like Prismatic Efficiency) supersede a maxed base enchant. See Calcite Enchants.
- Heart of Gaia is a separate pickaxe augment with its own progression. See Heart of Gaia.
Version history
v3.0.0
- Earthquake is now a Godly pickaxe enchant. It procs 10x less often (0.8% per block at L5, down from 8%) and in exchange grants Ancient Energy, drops shards, counts toward the season pass and your pickaxe's ore total, and pays XP at 50% per block like Powerball.
- Hot Zones now boost ore, XP and Ancient Energy from both Shatter and Earthquake.
- Super Breaker, Earthquake, Transfuse and Feed now scale with your increased proc chance, which they previously ignored in part or in full.
- Super Breaker on meteorites now uses the same proc chance it does on ordinary ore.
- Transfuse's proc chance is unchanged at 10% per level, and is now configurable.
- The Powerball tooltip now shows its real proc chances of 1%, 1.5%, 2% and 2.5% per level.
- Lucky now sits on armour as well as pickaxes and weapons, and boosts only the enchants on the piece it is socketed in.
- Ores broken by Fracture now count as blocks you mined, for
/trackers, clue scroll drops and tasks, season pass challenges, quest progress and the Calcite Caverns timer. - Meteorite Hunter now counts rented-pickaxe blocks toward its daily cap, updates the count live during a lease, and carries the day's count back to the owner's pickaxe when the lease ends.
- Shatterpoint and Wildfire now count every meteorite block they destroy toward the Meteorite Hunter daily cap.
- Added Fracture VI and Warp Miner VI as Exceptional levels; every Exceptional orb now applies at a flat 50%.
- A reboot landing mid-Earthquake no longer leaves its blocks hanging in the air.
v2.0.0
- Base mining slowed across the board, so mining-speed enchants matter from the very start.
- Warp Miner reworked into a pure +10% mining XP per level enchant — no energy conversion at the cap.
- Meteorite Hunter energy bonus changed to +10% more energy per level (was a flat +100%).
- Super Breaker scaling halved at higher levels — L5 procs ~40% less often and gives 10 instant breaks instead of 15.
- Powerball now fires a random 1–4 balls per proc, and its fireballs are visible again.
- Prismatic Efficiency's Rainbow Echo cooldown cut from 30s to 5s.
