Pickaxe Prestige Rewards: Paths, Perks & Stats
Every pickaxe prestige hands you exactly one reward to choose — a powerful path perk at the milestones, or a base stat at every level in between. This page covers what lands at each level, the three paths and their perks, the shared stat pool, and the tokens that let you retune a finished pickaxe. For how to actually earn each prestige, see Pickaxe Prestige.
One reward per level
Season 2 flattened the old mixed layout — now every level grants a single reward:
| Prestige | You get |
|---|---|
| 1, 5, 10 | A path perk |
| 2, 3, 4, 6, 7, 8, 9 | A base stat |
| 11 | Your Tartarus perk only — see Tartarus Prestige |
That's 3 perks and 7 stats over the run. Your first perk now lands at Prestige 1 instead of P3, so the payoff comes much sooner. Prestige 11 grants only its Tartarus specialization — no extra base stat tacked on.
The three paths
Picking your first path perk at Prestige 1 commits that pickaxe to one of three paths for good. Each path carries a passive bonus on top of its perks:
- Shatter — area-of-effect perks that amplify the Shatter enchant. Passive: 7% increased Shatter proc rates.
- Powerball — extra projectiles and chaining. Passive: 12% increased Powerball proc rates.
- Proc Manipulation — better proc odds with pity mechanics. Passive: 5% increased proc rates.
Your later perks (P5, P10) come from the same path you committed to. Every path now offers 4 perks to pick 3 from, so no path is a forced full sweep.
Path perks
Perk values roll randomly within a range when you pick them, and each perk rolls a single range regardless of which slot you take it in. The menu shows the exact roll.
| Path | Perk | What it does | Roll |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shatter | Cluster Bomb | Chance to proc Shatter 10 extra times within 3 blocks | 6%–10% |
| Shatter | Residual Knowledge | Shattered blocks give partial XP and bonus Ancient Energy | 3%–6% |
| Shatter | Core Breach | Every 20th Shatter erupts with a much larger radius | +3 to +5 radius |
| Shatter | Shatterstorm | Shatter sends a march of aftershocks ahead of you | 25%–45% extra total volume |
| Powerball | Swarm | Powerball launches far more balls, all sharing the same block budget | +100% to +200% balls |
| Powerball | Meteor | Chance for a Powerball to arrive as one giant comet that bores a 3x3 tunnel | 10%–18% |
| Powerball | Fission | A spent Powerball splits into fragments that carry on at half the budget | 2–3 fragments |
| Powerball | Barrage | Every 150 blocks mined, a free Powerball volley fires on its own | 6–10 balls |
| Proc | Amplified Odds | Flat global proc chance, increased (additive) | 16%–24% |
| Proc | Overcharge | A single block force-procs every procable enchant you have at once | 8–15 per 1,000 blocks |
| Proc | Twinned | When an enchant procs, a chance for a different procable enchant to fire too | 20%–35% |
| Proc | Second Chance | When an enchant procs, chance to proc that same enchant again on the next block | 11%–19% |
Seven perks were retired in the map-3 rework: Echoed Impact, Expanding Shatter, Chain Burst, Surpassing, Everlasting Powerball, Rising Probability and Proc Party. A pickaxe still carrying one keeps all of its other perks — the retired slot simply reads as empty.
Base stats
Base stats are shared across all paths, roll within a range, and each can be taken once per pickaxe. The exact range always shows in the menu.
| Stat | Roll |
|---|---|
| Ore Gain | 20%–35% increased |
| Energy Gain | 12%–22% increased |
| XP Gain | 10%–15% increased |
| Shard Chance | 15%–30% more |
| Global Proc Chance | 6%–10% increased (additive) |
| Calcite Efficiency | 50%–100% cheaper calcite attempts |
| Energy Capacity | 200%–400% more |
| Reduced Extract Tax | 50%–100% less |
| Ore Respawn Rate | 50%–100% more |
| Meteorite Energy | 20%–35% increased |
| Meteorite Ores | 30%–50% increased |
| Mining Speed | 12%–18% increased |
Calcite Efficiency replaced the old Calcite Charge Find when Calcite Charges were removed. Instead of raising a drop rate, it now reduces the Ancient Energy cost of every calcite enchant attempt made on that pickaxe — the cost is divided by 1 + the rolled value. Existing rolls kept their number, so a pickaxe that already had the stat carries it straight over. It only works on pickaxes.
Read the wording carefully: increased is additive (it shares a pool with every other increased bonus of the same kind), while more is a separate multiplier. Shard Chance, Energy Capacity and Ore Respawn Rate are more; the rest are increased. Mining Speed is now increased too, and pools with every other increased mining speed source on the server rather than multiplying on top of them. The same goes for Global Proc Chance and Amplified Odds — proc-chance bonuses from prestige and trims add together into one bonus.
Meteorite stats only matter if you mine the things they boost, and proc stats scale with how many enchants you've stacked on the pickaxe.
Retuning with tokens
Token items let you adjust a prestiged pickaxe after the fact — drag one onto the pickaxe to use. Each token also costs some Ancient Energy on top (shown on the Pickaxe Prestige page):
- Perk Swap Token — swap one unlocked perk for any path perk.
- Perk Reroll Token — reroll the value of every perk; the types stay the same.
- Stat Swap Token — swap one stat for a random new one.
- Stat Reroll Token — reroll the value of every stat.
The four now share one look, so you can tell them apart at a glance: gold coins with gold names for the two Perk tokens, steel coins with aqua names for the two Stat tokens, each stamped with a swap or reroll glyph.
Version history
v3.0.0
- Seven path perks were replaced. Echoed Impact, Expanding Shatter, Chain Burst, Surpassing, Everlasting Powerball, Rising Probability and Proc Party are gone; a pickaxe carrying one keeps its other perks and the retired slot reads as empty.
- New Shatter perks Core Breach and Shatterstorm; new Powerball perks Swarm, Meteor, Fission and Barrage; new Proc perks Overcharge and Twinned.
- The Powerball path now has 4 perks to pick 3 from, matching Shatter and Proc.
- The Calcite Charge Find shared mod is now Calcite Efficiency — it reduces calcite enchant attempt costs on that pickaxe, and existing rolls keep their value.
- Prestige Mining Speed is now increased, pooling additively with every other mining speed source.
- The four prestige tokens now share one look: gold coins and gold names for the Perk tokens, steel coins and aqua names for the Stat tokens.
v2.0.0
- Prestige rewards restructured to one reward per level — a path perk at P1, P5 and P10, and a base stat at every level in between (3 perks + 7 stats). Your first perk now lands at Prestige 1, and Prestige 11 grants only its Tartarus perk.
- Path perks rebalanced — Surpassing, Chain Burst, Everlasting Powerball, Second Chance, Cluster Bomb and Expanding Shatter all roll lower.
- Base stat rolls lowered (Energy Gain, Ore Gain, Mining Speed, Global Proc Chance, Meteorite Energy, Shard Chance), and perks now roll the same range at every prestige slot.
- Mining proc-chance bonuses (prestige, trims, the of Overload rune) now add together into one bonus instead of multiplying, so Amplified Odds and Global Proc Chance read as additive.
