Calcite Enchants

Calcite enchants are the white-tier upgrades rolled at the Calcite Wormhole, deep past the Cavernheart portal in the Calcite Caverns. Each one consumes and supersedes a base enchant: the item must already carry the listed requirement before that calcite option is offered, and a success replaces the base enchant outright.

The Calcite enchants

Calcite enchant Upgrades Requires Max level Goes on
Prismatic Efficiency Efficiency Efficiency VI VI Pickaxes
Cataclysmic Shatter Shatter Shatter VI V Pickaxes
Fault Line Fracture Fracture VI V Pickaxes
Event Horizon Warp Miner Warp Miner VI IV Pickaxes
Cavern Luck Lucky Lucky IV VI Pickaxes, armour, swords, axes, wands, bows
Eternal Enlightenment Enlighten Enlighten IV IV Armour
Prismatic Overload Overload Overload IV III Chestplates
Unending Frenzy Frenzy Frenzy IV III Swords and axes

Most of those requirements are exceptional levels — one rank above the enchant's normal Wormhole cap, reachable only from an exceptional enchant orb, the kind Uber bosses drop. Shatter VI and Frenzy IV are the only two that sit at a normal cap. The requirement is checked once: once the item carries the calcite enchant at level 1, further levels no longer need the base enchant.

Because each Calcite enchant absorbs its base enchant, you build toward it on the pickaxe enchants and gear you already run — it's a capstone, not a parallel slot.

Rolling one at the Calcite Wormhole

The Calcite Wormhole no longer needs charges or orbs. Drop the item straight in:

  1. Throw the item in — it's free. Any Ancient pickaxe, gear piece or weapon is pulled in at no cost. Entangled pickaxes are refused (use /unentangle first), and Rift event pickaxes can never go in.
  2. Pick an enchant. A ring of options appears, each showing the level it would apply, its success chance and its Ancient Energy cost. Only enchants the item actually qualifies for are listed.
  3. Pay and roll. Clicking an option spends its energy cost — the item's own stored energy first, then loose Ancient Energy from your inventory — and rolls once. One attempt per drop: win or lose, the item comes back and the session ends. Drop it in again for a fresh set of odds.
  4. Or take it back. The ring carries a Take Item Back option that returns your item for free and ends the session. Nothing is charged.

Extra items you throw in while a result is still playing are queued behind it, up to 10; anything past that stays in your inventory. If the server restarts while your item is inside, it's handed back to you.

Costs

Every calcite enchant costs 1,000,000 energy for its first level, then climbs to a ceiling set by that enchant's max level:

Enchant's max level Cost at max level Enchants
III 15,000,000 Prismatic Overload, Unending Frenzy
IV 18,000,000 Event Horizon, Eternal Enlightenment
V 22,000,000 Cataclysmic Shatter, Fault Line
VI 25,000,000 Prismatic Efficiency, Cavern Luck

Two things cut that bill: the Calcite Efficiency shared mod from pickaxe prestige (pickaxes only), and the Drifter outpost major, which is worth 33% less per attempt.

Odds

Success chances are rolled fresh every time an item enters the wormhole, somewhere between 0.5% and 2.5%, and each option in the ring rolls its own. Level makes no difference — a level 1 attempt and a level 6 attempt sit in the same band. Enchant Catalysts cannot save a calcite roll.

To improve them, drop Calcified Dust (or your whole Dust Satchel) in while the ring is up. The boost is capped at +5 percentage points per session.

Legacy calcite orbs and charges

Calcite Charges and calcite orbs are retired. They no longer drop and the wormhole refuses them. If you still hold some:

  • A calcite orb still clicks onto a qualifying item to apply its enchant.
  • Sneak + right-click a charged Calcite Charge or a calcite orb to reclaim the Ancient Energy stored in it. Doing this on a stack drains only one at a time.

The Calcite Charge Satchel and /uncalcite have been removed, as has the Calcite Seeker armour enchant.

What the enchants do

  • Prismatic Efficiency inherits Efficiency VI's 240% increased mining speed, then adds 40% per level for 480% at VI. It also grants Rainbow Echo: when a mining enchant procs, a 0.1% per level chance (max 0.6%) to re-fire your other mining procs at 50% strength, on a 5-second cooldown.
  • Cataclysmic Shatter inherits Shatter VI's proc chance and radius, then gives each break a 20% per level chance of +1 radius — a guaranteed extra radius at V.
  • Fault Line replaces Fracture entirely: nearby ores stop soaking up partial mining progress, and instead every block you break has a 28% chance at I (rising 3% per level to 40% at V) to tear a fault through the seam and instantly break 5 nearby ores. Those count as blocks you mined, with full drops, XP and energy. Its chance is fixed — Lucky, trims, prestige perks and increased proc chance never move it.
  • Event Horizon continues Warp Miner VI's mining XP line at 10 points per level, landing on a flat 2x mining XP at IV.
  • Cavern Luck inherits Lucky IV's +40% proc rate, then adds +10% per level for +100% at VI, hard-capped at 3x. It now applies to wands and bows as well, where it boosts that weapon's own enchants.
  • Eternal Enlightenment gives armour a 10% chance when hit (+2% per level, 16% at IV) to heal 300% of the damage taken, scaling to 450% at IV. It doesn't stack across pieces.
  • Prismatic Overload inherits Overload's +6 hearts, then adds +2 hearts per level for +12 hearts at III. Chestplate only, doesn't stack.
  • Unending Frenzy builds Frenzy's combo 50% faster, and softens the punishment for getting hit: you lose 36% of your combo at I, down to 12% at III.

A black-scrolled dual-class Calcite enchant like Cavern Luck is bound to its source item type: a Lucky orb extracted from a pickaxe stays pickaxe-only, so you can't shuffle it onto unrelated gear. See Removing & Moving Enchants for how black-scrolling and item binding work.

Version history

v3.0.0

  • Calcite Charges are gone. The Calcite Wormhole now enchants items directly: drop any Ancient pickaxe, gear piece or weapon in for free and pick a calcite enchant to attempt.
  • Each attempt costs Ancient Energy, pulled from the item's stored energy first and then from your inventory — 1M at level 1, climbing to 15M/18M/22M/25M depending on the enchant's max level.
  • Success rates are now the same band at every level, rolled between 0.5% and 2.5% each time the item enters the wormhole.
  • Calcite orbs are retired: existing orbs still click onto items to apply, and sneak right-click reclaims their stored energy one at a time.
  • The Calcite Charge Satchel, /uncalcite and the Calcite Seeker armour enchant have been removed.
  • New calcite enchant Fault Line, the upgrade of Fracture. It replaces Fracture on the pickaxe, its ores count as blocks you mined, and its chance is fixed — nothing raises or lowers it.
  • New calcite enchant Event Horizon, the upgrade of Warp Miner.
  • Cavern Luck can now be applied to wands and bows, boosting that weapon's enchant proc rate.
  • The Calcified Dust boost cap per wormhole session is now 5%, down from 25%.
  • The ring has a Take Item Back option that returns your item for free, items are returned after a server restart, and the queue holds up to 10 items.
  • Fixed calcite enchant levels showing as a number instead of a roman numeral on bows, wands and in the black scroll menu.

v2.0.0

  • Halved the odds of rolling a Calcite enchant directly onto a pickaxe at the Calcite Wormhole (Cavern Luck, Cataclysmic Shatter, Prismatic Efficiency).
  • Cut Prismatic Efficiency's Rainbow Echo cooldown to 5 seconds, making it proc far more often.
  • Black-scrolled dual-class Calcite/Lucky orbs are now bound to their source item type.
