Lamia

A cursed serpent queen who commands mirrors and clones. Lamia is the easiest of the four bosses — the right first summon for a new hunter.

Summoning

  • Key: Lamia's Tear — forged automatically when you collect 64 Essence of Lamia, which drops from the lowest-tier shades, wraiths and caravans in Forgotten Polis and Ancient Roads. Also sold in the Boss Shop for 5,000 Hunter Points.
  • Requirement: Hunter rank T1 (/hunter).
  • Take the key to her altar via /boss, place it, hit Summon, and enter the portal with your party.

The Fight

Lamia stalks one fighter at a time and switches targets as the fight goes on.

  • Life Drain — her melee bites steal life: every hit heals her a little. Don't let her chew on you for free.
  • Serpent Strike — she telegraphs a line on the ground, then dashes along it. Step off the line.
  • Frightful Scream — a long, loud wind-up ("Get away!") with rings spreading outward, ending in a huge blast around her. This is by far her hardest-hitting attack — get well clear before it lands.
  • Mirror Split — twice during the fight she vanishes into a ring of identical clones (a few the first time, more the second). Cut them all down quickly and the illusion shatters, stunning her for a free damage window. Dawdle and the clones fade on their own after 30 seconds — no stun for you. Tip: the real Lamia gives off a faint white sparkle.

She holds her bigger abilities back until she's taken a little damage, so the opening moments are tame.

Drops

All loot goes to the summoner. Typical haul per kill (rarities approximate):

  • Common: Enchant Dust, Enchant Erasers, Motes of the Ancients
  • Uncommon: Mystery Enchant Orbs, rare booster boxes, Condensed Crude Coal/Iron, pickaxe stat re-roll and swap items
  • Rare: a max-level Efficiency exceptional orb, Fortune's Dice, armor/weapon slot expanders
  • Very rare: Golden Tickets, the Ancient Mannequin, a GKit Mystery Flare
  • Signature (rarest): Lamia's Veil

Killing her also pays the summoner 500 Hunter Points. Chasing the Veil? Track it on the RNG Meter (/rngmeter).
