Your Pickaxe

Your Ancient Pickaxe is the heart of everything you do on Ancients. It banks the Ancient Energy you mine, gains its own levels and enchants, and can eventually be prestiged into a specialised endgame tool. Take care of it — a well-built pickaxe is worth more than anything else in your inventory.

Every ore you break feeds energy straight into the pickaxe you're holding, filling a charge bar toward its next level. When the bar is full, you throw the pickaxe into the Wormhole to level it up and roll a new enchant. As you pour work into it, you can layer on trims and tune its mining speed.

You never lose the pickaxe itself. White Scrolls have been removed — your pickaxe and your satchels are kept on death unconditionally, no scroll needed. What you do lose is the Ancient Energy stored inside it: that's extracted and dropped at your body, taxed at your rank's extract rate if you died outside a safe zone.

This section covers everything about the pickaxe itself — its tiers and how to upgrade them, banking and extracting energy, the Pickaxe Prestige path and its rewards, the final Tartarus Prestige, and renting one through Pickaxe Rentals. Start with Mining if you're brand new, then come back here once your pickaxe starts pulling its weight.
