RNG Meter

Tired of farming for that one drop? The RNG Meter is per-player, per-source bad-luck protection: pick a drop to chase, and every kill pushes you toward a guaranteed copy.

Open it with /rngmeter (aliases /rng, /rngmeters) or the RNG Meter button in /boss. Pick a source — Lamia, Echidna, Thanatos, Hephaestus, or Erebus Guards — then click the drop you want to chase.

On the four boss meters, drops you haven't discovered yet show as a locked ? ? ?; pull one once and it unlocks so you can target it. The Erebus Guard meter has no such lock — see below.

How the meter fills

Every kill adds a fixed chunk of progress, and after each one you get a chat line showing the bar and your kill count. As the meter charges, your chosen drop also becomes steadily more likely to fall naturally — a gentle boost that grows as the bar fills.

The cap scales with the rarity of the drop you're chasing: rarer targets need more kills to fill, because the meter sizes itself off how unlucky you'd statistically have to be. See Boss Loot for what each boss can drop — including rare Enchant Orbs.

Erebus Guards

The meter now covers Erebus Guards in the Pit as a fifth source alongside the four bosses. Seven chase drops are trackable:

Drop Guaranteed by
Armor Expander Box
Emberfall armor trim 505 kills
Mystery Boss Key
Trim Remover
Global Booster Box
Weapon Expander Box
Emberfall pickaxe trim 3,026 kills

The guard meter runs a tighter cap than the bosses: it fills in 1.5× the average kills for whatever you're tracking, which is where those two numbers come from. The bread-and-butter drops — Enchant Dust, Motes of Ancients, the two flares, Forge Fuel, Crude Ore Cores — aren't trackable; they're filler, not a chase.

Two things work differently here:

  • Every chase drop is selectable from the start. There's no "pull it once first" gate, because the Pit table renders in full in /loot anyway and the whole point is helping players who never pull the trims at all.
  • Killer-scoped, not summoner-scoped. Whoever is credited with the guard kill charges their own meter.

Guards die in bulk, so the progress line prints every 25 kills instead of on every kill.

Hitting the guarantee

A full meter is a guarantee: your next kill delivers the tracked drop on top of your normal loot, then the meter resets to zero.

If the target falls naturally before the bar fills, that resets the meter too. It protects you against bad luck — it doesn't stack with good luck, so you never bank extra progress past a pull.

The fine print

  • Per player, per source. Thanatos kills don't move your Lamia meter, guard kills don't move either, and your meter is yours alone.
  • Boss meters are summoner-scoped. Progress only goes to the player who receives the boss loot — the summoner. Tagging along in someone else's party doesn't charge your own meter, so summon with your own key to make progress. (Guard meters are killer-scoped instead.)
  • Tracking no longer costs you your Outpost luck. Setting a target used to cancel your Outpost luck on that kill's loot roll; it doesn't any more.
  • Switching targets keeps your progress. The accumulated charge carries over to the new drop (the cap may differ). Stopping tracking entirely resets the meter to zero.
  • Seasonal reset. Meters reset with the season, like the rest of your seasonal progression — a new map starts everyone fresh.

The Uber bosses have no meter of their own — the five sources above are the whole list.

Version history

v3.0.0

  • /rngmeter now covers Erebus Guards, with bad-luck protection on the Emberfall armor trim, the Emberfall pickaxe trim, armor and weapon expanders, trim removers, mystery boss keys and global booster boxes.
  • Erebus Guard meters fill in 1.5× the average kills for the tracked drop, so the Emberfall pickaxe trim is guaranteed by 3,026 kills and the Emberfall armor trim by 505.
  • Every Erebus Guard chase drop is selectable from the start, without having to pull it once first.
  • The Erebus Guard meter progress line now prints every 25 kills instead of every kill.
  • Tracking a drop no longer cancels your Outpost luck on that kill's loot roll.

v2.0.0

  • RNG Meter progress now carries over when you switch your tracked drop — switching targets no longer resets your meter.
