Contraband
Contraband is smuggled loot — a sealed stash (it looks like an ender chest) that you crack open for rewards. It's one of the most common prize items on Ancients, and a steady source of Ancient Energy and enchanting materials.
Rarities
Contraband comes in eight tiers, from least to most valuable:
Simple → Uncommon → Elite → Ultimate → Legendary → Godly → Divine → Exceptional
Higher rarities pay out noticeably more Ancient Energy and unlock rarer items in the reward pool.
Opening contraband
Hold the contraband and right-click to open it. You can only open contraband in a safe zone (or right around spawn) — crack it somewhere safe before showing off your haul.
Each contraband gives three rewards, revealed with a short opening animation. In a hurry? Turn on the skip-animation option in /toggles to get all three instantly.
What's inside
Rewards are drawn from the contraband pool for that rarity. Qualitatively:
- Ancient Energy — the most common reward at every rarity, with the payout growing steeply at higher tiers.
- Enchanting materials — enchant dust, enchant rerolls, and enchant erasers, plus white and black scrolls.
- Meteorite shower flares — an occasional pull at any rarity.
- Rarer utility items at higher tiers — home expansions (Uncommon and up), vault expansions (Elite and up), fractured G-Kit flares (Legendary and up), mystery enchant orbs (Godly and up), and quantum entanglers (Divine and up).
- Fortune's Dice — an Exceptional-only rare pull.
Where contraband comes from
You don't buy contraband — you win it. Sources include:
- Mining shards — the shards you collect while mining can pay out contraband
- Clue caskets from clue scrolls
- Chat games
- Heroic meteors — a source of the highest tiers
- Mystery Contraband Boxes — found in the Black Market Auction House, rank kits, seasonal crates, and other lootboxes
- Season Pass reward tiers
