Obols
Obols are the premium currency of Ancients — separate from Money and Ancient Energy, and the one wallet that follows you everywhere. Your balance is network-wide (it carries across the prison, Forgotten Polis, and Ancient Roads) and, unlike the other currencies, it does NOT reset between seasons.
Run /obols to check your balance — it's also shown at the top of every store menu. Everything Obols can buy lives in /store; see The Obol Store for the full catalogue.
Earning Obols
Discord server tag
Link your Discord with /link, then equip the Ancients server tag in Discord. While the tag is active you passively earn 2 Obols per hour, even while offline. Pending rewards stack to a cap of 48 Obols, so check in at least once a day and run /claimtag to collect.
Boosting the Discord
Boost the Ancients Discord and, for as long as your boost is active, you get:
- 500 Obols per boost, every month — claim with
/claimboost - 5% more XP
- 5% more Ancient Energy
- The ✦ Tartarus Patron chat title
Two boosts on the server earn the Obol reward for both.
Gang Top payouts
The top 3 gangs on the Gang Leaderboard earn an Obol stipend, paid to each gang's leader. Over the map, #1 takes 15,000 Obols, #2 takes 10,000, and #3 takes 5,000 — split across the season:

Ranking is by Gang Points. Run /g top to see the full reward schedule with a live countdown to the next payout — see Gang Leaderboard & Payouts for the details. If a leader is offline, the Obols still land on their balance and they're notified next time they join.
Season Pass tiers
Several tiers on both the free and paid tracks of the Season Pass award Obols when claimed. Open /pass to see exactly which tiers pay out and how much.
Topping up
You can buy Obols on the web store at buy.ancients.gg — run /buy in game for a clickable link. (Earning Obols in-game is also a reward for voting and staying active.)
Paying other players
Send Obols to anyone with /obols pay <player> <amount>. The transfer is instant — even to offline players — and an online recipient gets an on-screen notice that the Obols landed.
